Swingin', Surfin', Swimmin'

Abraham: We had a really fun weekend. Crowded, as Daddy likes to say. It started Friday night with dinner at a fancy restaurant. We went early so we could be home in time for bed, so the wait staff doted on us since there weren't many others there yet and certainly no one as cute as us there at all. FUN! Saturday we went to the Full House Moms summer party at Sellwood Park. We got to go in the swimming pool. I loved the bubbly fountains and Koh got to surf. FUN FUN! Then we walked through the park and Mommy and Daddy showed us where they had their wedding reception. Then we got to go on the swings. We're too small still, so we shared one. We laughed a lot, and so did Mommy and Daddy and the other people walking by. Daddy kept saying "push me, pull me" and something about 2-headed llamas. FUN FUN FUN! And on Sunday we did our first hike in the baby backpacks. We got to put our feet in Eagle Creek at our lunch spot. FUN FUN FUN FUN! Whew!

Give Peas A Chance

Koh: We've been eating "solid" foods for a little over a week now. Why do they call them "solid?" Rice cereal is nothing like the cereal that Mommy and Daddy eat, it is more like soup. And peas are mushy too. Regardless (and even irregardless), they taste pretty good. My brother is more talented with the spoon than I am, but that's okay because he's got some catching up to do on the scale.

Baby It's Hot Outside - 102 degrees

Abraham: It's hot. Mommy says it usually doesn't get this hot in Portland which is good cause it makes me grumpy and we have to hang out downstairs where it's cooler. But Daddy had a brilliant idea to beat the heat; go jump in a lake... or a river. So we went to the Willamette River last night and dipped our feet in the water. Koh really liked it and did his jump-jump-jump and splashing thing. I tried it, didn't like it much, so I cried. Mommy thought the water was a cold shock for me, but I really didn't like it because I know how polluted that river is - yuck! I bet my toes start glowing in the dark.

Our first FOOD

Abe: Today we turned 6 months old, and mom and dad gave us two things we never had before: FOOD and our own email account. What fun this was, although a bit scary. We'll be sending email out soon... but there are so many keys compared to the phone or the piano. For FOOOOOOD we got to eat in the big people dining room and today a 2-course meal: the usual momma latte then some of this slimy goopy stuff they said was rice cereal. Neither of us knew how to work our tongue on this sort-of-solid food, but I for one ate very much very fast; I could see that we were sharing the bowl, and I wanted to eat lots before my tubby bro Koh got too much. Bouldering at Smith

Abraham: We had a really fun weekend. We went to Sunriver with our friends the Zupancics. In Daddy's "crowded day" fashion, we did a lot of things outdoors to show Jeff, Sue and Patrick how great central Oregon is. We hiked up Tumalo mountain, drove up to Paulina Peak, walked on an obsidian lava flow and went to Smith Rock state park. There I got to try my first rock climbing. Okay, it was really bouldering. Oh alright, I really just touched a big rock. But I liked it and Mommy said she and Daddy will teach me someday.

College Fundraising

Koh: Daddy has a creative way to help build my and Abe's college funds, while teaching us a fun game called Rock Paper Scissors. Session brand beer bottle caps have either a rock, a paper or a scissors printed on the inside. If you want a beer at our house you have to ante up and try your luck with your beer cap against Daddy's. Daddy is very lucky and his friend Jeff Z. is not. Jeff says we're going to Stanford.
