Thanksgiving with Dad

For turkey day Dad watched TWO thanksgiving day parades with us on TV, then we drove to play on frozen Trillium lake then ate this big dinner with hot cocoa and pies and 60 people at the Mazama Lodge.

When we drove home we asked if he'd take us to do all THAT again next year.

Do not Wock

Abe: Daddy, can I help you with the porch painting project?

I'm gonna make the sign.

Parke Diem Willamette Park

Abe: We volunteered today at one of our favorite parks and planted some natives in the bioswale and cleaned up the beach.

I got stung by a bee on my ear and I cried but it was worth it because we got lots of yummy Starbucks food, drank pop and then played in the park and rode our bikes for a long time.

Fort Stevens 2013

We love our annual beach trip, especially jumping off the sand dunes, campfires, donuts and running on the beach.

Funny Faces

ABE: I've lost 5 teeth so my smile ain't pretty these days. But people still like me, nobody really minds. I actually like losing teeth because the tooth fairy brings me strange money from her land plus I can do tricks using the holes in my smile.

KOH: We went to street festival and this nice artist made me into a lizard and Abe into a cheetah. Good practice for Halloween.  I smashed into a pole that day so hard it loosened one of my teeth!

Camp trip #4: Deschuttes

Dad told us this was the first place we camped in life, and we were only 6 months old then.  We keep coming back to this place 'cause we like it so much.  Mom and dad used to carry us in front packs when were were tiny, then in a bike trailer.

This time we rode our own bikes on the river trail, floated in the fast river current 'cause we're good swimmers and even found a rope swing...scary at first but real fun. Here's our music video of 3 days of fun.

Our first teepee camping: Ka-nee-ta

We'd never slept in a teepee until this trip, and we had a fire inside and even ate smores, which the indians probly didn't have.  Then we rode horses for our first time and spent lots of time at the water park next door.  Check out our music video

Our first foot race

We ran our first mile race today with real race numbers and fans cheering us on, and got tired and sweaty.

We were leading the race at the beginning as you can see, but we slowed down to give some other kids a chance, and we didn't win.

Climbing wall no problem

Dad and Mom think they taught us this, but the didn't 'cause we just walked up and climbed up, rang the bell and rapped off, then did it over and over.

Fun, fun!

Lost teeth

Koh: I kept my teeth longer than Abe, but finally lost my first one today.  Look at this scary picture - we wish it were Halloween time.

Lost Lake Camping

Here's a lake so beautiful it was picked by the US Mint as the image on the Oregon Quarter.  And the natural lake 3000' above the sea has never had a motor boat on it, so it's really clear.  And we said DAD WHY DON"T WE CAMP THERE? So he took us and we fished, swam, caught lots of salamanders, ate s'mores every meal, played with fire, skateboarded, hike with our pal Ori, rowed a boat, then even went swimming on the Columbia River on the way home.  The campsite was awesome in a huckleberry forest with lots of bird sounds but real quiet, too, which Dad likes. Click for 18 more pics.

Muddy beach day

Mom and Dad let us play in the mud anytime we want, and we really liked this beach - wow the mud was deep and squishy.

We built a mud castle, swam and walked around finding dead fish, fish hooks, rocks and other cool things.

July 4 Parade

Our street had a parade on the holiday, everyone came out and Grandma decorated our bikes and our heads. How do you like it?

2013 campout #1: Whatum Lake

Mom was travelling so dad took us to this awesome hidden lake in the Columbia Gorge called Whatum Lake.

We got this great secluded campsite, ate s'mores for breakfast lunch and dinner, played with the fire a lot, fished for hours, practiced snowboarding on real snow, drank from a natural spring, hiked on Indian Mountain, found a pilot's grave, caught butterflies, fell into the lake, picked up newts and bugs, got scared by crawfish, saw a deer, made a wildflower centerpiece, then did that all again the second day.

Wow dad, when can we go back there again?

Best friends forever

We don't always agree, but we're best pals anyway.
