Scary fast sledding on streets open to cars

It snowed today in Portland just enough to be out all day playing in it. Our warm up run here  We warmed up at the Gabriel Park skate park then got to ride the fasted longest hill we ever sledded down: Check out our 800-foot Texas Street Luge run!

Snow fun Sunday

We snowshoed and played in the feet of fresh snow today near Mt Hood.  Can we go cross country skiing next time, dad ?

Home-made Christmas tree #2

Pool noodles + hula hoop + $9 Home Depot trip and we created our own tree again this year.  We love doing this, and we can even stand inside this one!

Old Enough

Abe: Mom says I'm old enough to use a sharp knife so I helped her chop up all the ingredients for turkey pot pie. No fingers were harmed in the making of dinner. 

Thanksgiving at Trillium Lake and Mazama Lodge

Our second boys Thanksgiving day on Mt Hood was another hit: frozen lake antics, bird visitors, sledding, Christmas card photo shoot, and lots of wildlife - we even saw a river otter hop out onto the ice!   Then we overate at the Mazama Lodge with 60 others.

Apple festival fun

Dad really likes to go to the country and buy cider and apples in the fall so we found this orchard festival and ate carmel apples, rode the hay wagon, shot the giant apple sling and loved the bouncy house apple too!

And of course we bought giant honey crisps and cider to go.

Dad even made apple crisp that night!
