Poopy Day

Abe: Today was a poopy day. We had to say bye-bye to Shasta. I don't think I'm too sad cuz she hardly ever let me touch her, but Mommy is sad, so I'm sad. Plus, when I was sleeping in the stroller today a bird pooped on my leg. Poopy day.

Don't mess with my cars

Koh: I love my cars. I race them around on the tracks and down the ramp, line them up on windowsills and in my bed, and I go to sleep with them. When I get up we start over again.

If you take one of my cars I will hurt you.

Here's me right outta bed at 5:30am today clutching my cars ready for another car filled day.

Fat lip

Koh: I keep having these flying dreams. So today I flew down the stairs ...until that sudden stop where I used my face to bite that step and hold on. Crying, cancelled swim date, quick doctor trip and now I'm better after the superglue procedure pulled it all together. I think Dad is going to buy a big bottle of that stuff for me and Abe.

Check out my before and after lip smacker.

Easter=Candy

Koh:  Abe and me got to make pretty colored eggs for Easter.  We learned that a bunny comes to the house and hides those eggs, although we looked for him and never saw him.

We also learned that there are little nests with candy hidden around the house, and baskets of candy too.  We learned to look for those hidden eggs.

But most of all, we learned to eat a lot of candy and chocolate bunnies.  I think Mommy and Daddy learned not to give us so much candy.

What's wrong with this picture?

Abe: I'm a daredevil, and today I was showing off for Daddy and Koh who watched me launch my first tricycle ride DOWN THE STONE STAIRS at our house. I mean once I can do this, our steep street will be a piece of cake. Results of today's ride: Not good ....I got scared and cried ...it sure was bumpier than I expected and then that sudden stop when I flipped. Hey, at least Daddy was nearby to untangle me and then hold me tight. That was dangerous ...next time I'm wearing my helmet.

Worms

Abraham:  Have we told you how much we like worms?  Koh and my favorite thing to do is look for worms in the backyard or in the park.  If you don't believe us, just come over and we'll show you.  Don't forget to bring your shovel to help us dig.

Dining out blooooooooog g g g g gooo

Koh: I'm really sorry, Mommy. I don't know what made me feel that way while I leaned on you in the booth ...but it had to come out. All of it ...my entire milky rice and bean mexican feast. ...the first projectile splash onto your neck, hair and the back of the booth. At least it didn't fly over the booth into that nice family sitting next to us. Then came the second flush, this one was big and ugly ....really soaked your nice work sweater and blouse (sorry, mom), then down to your pants and belt and the seat. It made me cry and Abe cried too since he's never seen a milky waterfall like that. I feel bad, mommy. How come you didn't finish your dinner or that big red drink you had? (pictures omitted). Postscript: upon arrival home to strip to the bones at the washer ...this one had soaked thru to mommy's underwear ...a first.

My first hoops workout

Abe: I love basketball and I want to get better. This weekend Dad caught me practicing my game, I mean I was really concentrating and it was frustrating to keep missing, so I was whining and moaning while "on my game." I really work hard at this. I pause before every shot and concentrate. Dad made a foul line for me and that helped me make more shots.

Little Time Wrestling

Koh: Our buddy Ryan came over last night. We had dinner and then we got to play. Me and Abe love 'naked time' after dinner anyway, but with another naked boy to join us, I can't even begin to explain how much fun that is. We did lots of running and chasing and Little Time Wrestling moves, until someone got an eye poked out. Well, until Abe and Ryan bumped heads pretty hard and that ended the fun. But, boy was he fun until then.
(Ryan is exactly the same age as me. He's the one in socks. You can see a video of our wrestling on You Tube or click here)

Valentine's Day Cookies

Abraham: Daddy was gone for Valentine's Day so Gramma came over and helped Mommy and us decorate cookies.
Koh and me mostly ate the frosting.  But then the sprinkles came out and then we mostly ate sprinkles.

Gramma

Abraham:  Daddy took Mommy away for a couple days and nights and Gramma got to stay with us.  We were pretty nice to her, but did make her get up at our usual 4:30 a.m.  Good thing we are cute!

Chop Sticks

Abraham: Forget forks. Forget even using our fingers. Me and Koh are moving up to chopsticks.

Snow Boys

Abraham: We had more snow today and we got to play outside. Daddy showed us how to make snowmen. Then I got cold and wanted to go inside.

Potty training update and a double flush

Koh: I'm gonna be first to wear big boy underwear 'cause I've been practicing and Abe hasn't. He just watches, but I can pee in my potty and sometimes even make a poopy. I really like to make poopy 'cause mommy gives me a brand new hotwheel CAR every tme I do that. And I get stickers for every time I pee. We also get to flush our poopy and pee down the big boy toilet sometimes. Today mine took two flushes to all go bye-bye, which daddy said isn't normal. Sorry, no pictures today.
CORRECTION:  Koh, Mommy here.  Wanted to let you know it was 3 flushes... and some plunger action.  And you didn't even eat your lasagna for dinner last night!  Please remind Daddy that baby wipes aren't flushable.  I love you!

Love letter from Dad #7

Koh - It was a 1+1 day today, just you and me walking, talking, shopping, eating, dozing on a 5 hour urban adventure. The art museum was our main event where I learned that you didn't care much about studying the exhibit of historic photos of the Columbia River Gorge. The part of that we both liked best was sneaking in the food and smoothie, hiding from the guards on the bench, crouched down among the crowd of last-day visitors. Climbing the big stairs ...touching the ho-ho-ho snowman ("please don't touch anything in the museum") that wasn't cold and wasn't melting.

OK, maybe the art museum wasn't the perfect activity for a 2-year old - how would I know until we tried?

But wait ...something changed as we packed up in the lobby for the road trip home. Thru the big glass door on the left you spotted the permanent exhibit of ancient Chinese sculpture ...a horse pulling a cart! Come on Dad! as you pulled my hand into a room not crowded with people ...and WOW look at all these cool animals! Suddenly the guide and follower switched roles ....you were guiding me thru this room ...by the dog, the dog-monster mix, the goose, another horse. Oh my, a tiger ...this one you studied quietly, intently. Your hand pulling mine along, then stopping to see what this next sculpture was about. Why didn't you take me here before, Dad? No hurry, look, another animal. You made the sounds of ones you know. Honk says the goose, grrrrr the tiger, woof the dog.... But mostly you were quiet, looking, learning, holding my hand.

Maybe there's another room like this in the art museum ...I think we'll go back to see.

I love you, Koh. -Dad
